Whether you just got your new beagle puppy and are beginning to potty train him, or you have had your little puppy for a couple of weeks, sooner or later you are going to run into some problems. You may already know that beagles are sometimes very stubborn, but they also are very smart. So why is it that your beagle may not be responding to potty training, still going on the floor in your home, or worse, on the furnisher?
Using treats to reward your beagle when he does his business outside is good practice and should already be a part of your basic training. However, a common mistake many owners make is giving their dogs to many treats. This can cause your puppy to become overweight, so instead try breaking up his treats into a couple of pieces.
If you are not using treats as a reward for your puppy’s actions, keep in mind that it does work well, and when you use it with praise, your little beagle will soon come to understand what you want him to do. Like I said before, beagles are stubborn, and you may have to repeat this action many times before it sinks in.
If your beagle still does not respond well to your training, you may be doing it wrong. This is often a problem with many puppy owners and one that is easily solved. To learn how you can solve your beagles potty training issues click here.
